How We Help

The Tara Sawyer Foundation makes every effort to support young athletes, children and families in need. First and foremost, we believe in the power of prayer and commit to praying for each request that comes to our attention, and specifically for guidance on how to best do God’s will in each case. Because it was such an integral part of Tara’s life, we encourage everyone to learn more about the power of prayer.

Our foundation also contributes monetarily to athletic scholarships as well as children’s ministry, education, and enrichment programs. We assist the families of young athletes and children to the best of our ability, whether it is financial assistance or in-kind contributions.

Because Tara was a passionate Christian youth and passed from this world due to a water-born parasite and resulting disease, we have selected two primary charities of choice.
 

Life Outreach International – Water for Life

This outstanding charity is committed to drilling safe water wells in impoverished nations around the world. Whether it’s in the Sudan or Madagascar, thousands of children and families do not have access to safe water. The wells produced through this charity will serve villages and communities for generations.

We are encouraged that we are helping fulfill God’s will because of His promise:
“When the poor and needy search for water and there is none, and their tongues are parched from thirst, then I, the Lord, will answer them. I, the God of Israel, will never forsake them.” – Isaiah 41:7

Royal Family Kids Camp

This charitable organization provides fun, caring camps for abused, neglected or abandoned children. Founders Wayne and Diane Tesh want to reach 100,000 children by the year 2025, and we’re proud to help them towards their goal. These camps are sponsored by a vast network of churches throughout the United States.

We know that Tara’s life was full of joy and fellowship with other children, and we commit to bringing that same excitement to children who have not had that joy in their lives.
