Alex was born Nov. 9, 1994, in Fort Worth. She was in the ninth grade at Harwood Junior High, where she was an excellent student and accomplished athlete. She routinely made the A/B honor roll at school. She played soccer and volleyball, and was a top sprinter in track. Her signature race was the 100-meter hurdle. Her teachers and coaches viewed her as a natural leader.

Just as she had watched her older sisters mature, she too grew into a beautiful young woman. She wowed her family and friends during this past Christmas with a spirit and beauty that had never been brighter. Her life was short in its duration, but not in its richness and meaning. Effortlessly beautiful and athletic, she will be remembered for her quiet sincerity, sense of humor, kind heart and radiant smile.

Alex joins her Papa Chance, Mamma Flanagan, Pepaw, Nana and Honey in heaven. The family would like to extend its deepest gratitude to all for the overwhelming thoughts and prayers. Survivors: Father, Bobby Chance and wife, Karla; mother, Jonell Shelton and husband, David; sisters, Blair, Brittany, Abbey, Krissa, Keilly and Kelsey; brothers, Ryan, Matthew and Joshua; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
